Brother’s Weekend Away

Who can attend?

Brothers 16 and older

Participants should possess a regular learners/drivers license and be able to drive confidently on the road.
Owning a 4×4 and having previous off road driving experience is not a requirement.
4×4 Vehicle’s will be made available to participants.

At Maghrib on Friday 5 August @

Retreat will end at 15:30 on Sunday 7 August.

Presenter’s Bio:
Moulana Abu Hurairah Bobat

Moulana Abu Hurairah is praised for his memorization of the hadith compilation known as Riyadh Us Saliheen.
He also know to be an astute scholar who is gifted with the ability of simplifying complex issues.

He is a young man and that is an advantage when it comes to connecting with the youth and making them feel comfortable to communicate without barriers.

Instructor’s Bio:
Terence Tracey

> Over 2 decades of experience in driver training
> Trained and traveled throughout Africa
> In 2013 Terence drove across 3 continents in a classic car
> Terence runs the 4×4 experience at the Lion and Safari Park

Masjid Al Kawthar will be our base and 4×4 activities will take place at the Lion and Safari Park in Lanseria

YOUTH ADVENTURE CAMP KIT LIST

  1. Comfortable old outdoor shoes / Trainers / Slops / Sandals.
  2. Warm Clothing (including jacket, tracksuit, warm hat, etc. if its winter)
  3. Raincoat / Poncho
  4. A few pairs of old shirts, track pants, etc. (prepare to get wet & muddy!)
  5. Sunscreen, sunglasses, & cap
  6. Torch with spare batteries
  7. Plastic bag for wet/ used clothes etc
  8. Some tuck money
  9. Small backpack (for hikes etc.)
  10. Notebook, pen, & pencil
  11. Sleeping bag & pillow (A blow up mattress will be an advantage)
  12. Basic toiletries & medication (Be sure to bring your prescribed medication, if any)
  13. Mosquito repellent
  14. Water bottle
  15. Suitable clothing for Salaat (Topee, Kurta)
  16. Some snacks & goodies (enough to share!)

Please Note:

  • No valuables are to be brought by the participant.
  • Costumes, shorts, etc. must cover from the navel to below the knee, as this is the private part (Satr) of a Muslim male, which has to be covered at all times. Parents are requested to encourage our youngsters to purchase 3 quarter pants, etc instead, which covers the said area.
